All Souls' Highlights the Role of the Church in Caring for the Bereaved |
All Souls' is a chance for churches to provide sacred space for their community to remember loved ones, but the unique thing about our churches is that this care and welcome is not just confined to one day of the year - it is rooted in a compassionate ministry to the bereaved which is all year round. We spoke to people ministering in bereavement teams, funeral planning, and those providing follow up support in the months following the funeral. |

Churches Reach Out Through Light Parties at All Hallows' Eve |
From discos to light trails, bobbing apples and hot chocolate, our churches used All Hallows' Eve as an opportunity to reach out to their local communities. Revd Tom Young, curate at St Thomas Fair Oak, said, “We recognise that the community is out and about this evening, so we thought it's a great opportunity to meet them, to love and serve them”. |

See the Photos from Our Bishops' Study Day |
It was great to see so many clergy at this week's Bishop Study Day led by Sue Cooke, director of 'Leading Your Church Into Growth'. LyCiG has inspired thousands of church leaders across the UK to grow churches that are confident, prayerful, and outward-looking. Sue brought a wealth of experience and encouragement to get us thinking afresh about outreach in our own contexts. |
