Big Anniversaries for Two Churches in Our Diocese |

This year marks the 900th anniversary of St Nicholas Church, Newnham, and the church community held a service of thanksgiving to celebrate the history and legacy of their church! St Thomas Church, Lymington, are also celebrating an anniversary of 775 years this year - the Friends of St Thomas have commissioned a sculpture to commemorate the occasion, the Lymington Christus, by renowned sculptor Peter Eugene Ball. |

Revd James Awarded MBE for Services to Young People |
Revd James Pitkin, Area Dean and Rector of the Thorngate & Blackwater Benefice, was awarded an MBE in the King's Birthday Honours List for his voluntary chaplaincy work serving the RAF Air Cadets. Revd James said, “It has been a real joy to help make the Air Cadet Chaplaincy more diverse, and more reflective of the cadets and adult volunteers.” |

Christchurch Priory Build on the Past to Secure the Future |
Christchurch Priory is launching an ambitious masterplan to secure the historic church for future generations.
As well as some necessary restoration work to the Nave and timberwork, the plans include a Heritage Hub to develop educational engagement, and changes to improve accessibility and reduce carbon emissions. Read more about the plans below! |

They oversee the work that is supported by funding from the national church. This includes consulting and writing bids for national funds and then supporting the diocese and its communities to steward the finances as they undertake transformational programmes aimed at revitalising mission and ministry. The national church are inviting church communities to take part in their summer social media campaign, #GreatAndSmall! They'd love to see your pictures of animals in churches, or within your church grounds - real or depicted! Simply upload your photos to socials and use the hashtag! |

Churches can now register to take part in this year's Ride+Stride! Get involved by encouraging Riders and Striders from the parish to raise money through sponsorship, and by welcoming visitors to your church. |

Piano Delivery Scam Offer |
A scam has re-emerged in recent weeks, offering a grand piano to churches, requesting a donation to cover transportation costs. Please be aware that no matter how genuine the offer seems (often claiming to be a legacy gift) this is a scam, and we encourage you to be vigilant. You can forward any suspicious emails to the National Cyber Security Centre. |
