Milford on Sea School Achieves a Double Gold |
Milford on Sea Church of England Primary is one of only two schools in the country to receive a Global Neighbours Gold Award for the second time and held an all school celebration to mark the remarkable achievement. Bishop Geoff visited the school to take part in the celebration and to present the certificate. |

Introducing the New Chaplain of Basingstoke Town FC |
Nicola Ford, curate at Basingstoke Church, is a long-time football fan, so when Basingstoke Town FC was looking for a new chaplain, she was the obvious choice! Nicola said, “My role is to be a presence and a pastoral support, to cheer on the team and I’m here if anyone wants to chat about Jesus or if anyone wants prayer." |

Medieval Fete Celebrates 900 Years of Newnham Church |
Last month, church members and local people gathered to celebrate the 900 year anniversary of St Nicholas' Church Newnham. The day included a medieval fete, a banquet, archery, and falconry displays! Revd Debbie Veel said, “There was literally something for everyone of every age. We had a fabulous day!" |

Woolston Church Awarded Golden Grant Award |
St Mark's and Peartree Messy Church were recently put forward for a 'Golden Grant Award', which resulted in Tesco awarding them £5,000! The money was used for community outreach, offering families summer holiday activity sessions and a range of healthy food options. |

Free NHS Health Checks for Clergy and WDBF Staff |

Free NHS Health Checks are being offered to all our clergy and WDBF staff aged 40-74. These checks are designed to help spot early signs of diseases and health conditions, with guidance offered helping you to take control of your health and make positive changes to help prevent future illness.

Minor Repairs & Improvements Grant Fund Reopened |
The Minor Repairs and Improvements Grant Fund has reopened for applications! In previous rounds, 57 churches across our diocese were awarded a combined £63,000 in funding to support essential works to their buildings. This round, we have £25,000 to distribute to help with smaller projects. Applications will close on 7 November 2025. |

Welcoming the Next Archbishop of Canterbury |
Last Friday, it was announced that Bishop Sarah Mullally will be the next Archbishop of Canterbury. Bishop Sarah has been the Bishop of London since 2018. Bishop Philip said, “I am wholly delighted by the announcement. I’m sure I speak for us all in the Diocese of Winchester in assuring her and Eamonn of our prayers." |

National Day of Solidarity Today |
Today: 9 October 2025
A coalition of organisations including the Together Coalition and the Church of England has announced that today will be a national day of unity and solidarity, one week after the attack at the Heaton Park Synagogue in Manchester. Parish Giving Scheme Website Update |
The Parish Giving Scheme (PGS) is launching a new digital platform, due to go live on 1 November. This will mean the PGS website will be offline from 13 October until 1 November. Please download any needed reports you may require before the website goes offline. While the website is temporarily down, donors won't be able to amend their gifts but, should they wish to, can cancel their giving directly with their bank. |

Anti-Slavery Day Liturgy and Prayers |

Find resources for Anti-Slavery Day from The Clewer Initiative, a charity that raise awareness and mobilise the Church to take action against modern slavery. These resources were created for Anti-Slavery Day but can be used at any time in the year, when you might wish to hold a special service in the effort to end modern slavery. |
