Yesterday, Kelly Betteridge was ordained and consecrated as Bishop of Basingstoke in a joyful service at Southwark Cathedral! Bishop Kelly said, "I think one of the messages that I'll take from today is about travelling light and being there to support those who are most in need of care, most in need of encouragement and most in need of knowing the love of God.” Please join us in praying for Bishop Kelly as she begins her episcopal ministry amongst us. |

Over 30 People Commissioned for Lay Ministry in Our Diocese |

Cllr Russell Theron, Mayor of Romsey, recently served as a Steward for an afternoon at Romsey Abbey, welcoming visitors, helping answer questions about the Abbey’s rich history, and supporting the smooth running of the day! The Mayor praised the Stewards for the important role they play in ensuring that all who visit the Abbey feel informed, safe, and valued. 'Lungs of the Earth' is a call for environmental action and advocacy from the Anglican Communion. It is an invitation to restore and protect God's world with a particular focus on three vital ecosystems that act as the planet's natural lungs: oceans, forests and ice caps. Lungs of the Earth also ties in with Anglican advocacy in the lead up to this year's UN Climate Change Conference, COP30, held in Brazil from 10-21 November. |

There will be five resources in total, released monthly. |

New Accessibility Icons for Churches |
The national church have created new accessibility icons, to give better and clearer information about the accessibility of church buildings, services and events. Downloadable versions of the icons, along with explanatory text and instructions for use, can be found on the ACNY Resource Hub. There's also a new Editor Help Centre article explaining how the icons and tags can be used. |
