Poignant Baby Loss Services Held Across the Diocese |
Churches across the diocese have offered people affected by pregnancy loss or the death of a baby a space to reflect, to gather to pray and light candles in memory of their little ones. Special services were held during Baby Loss Awareness Week at Beaulieu Abbey, St Michael's Andover, All Hallows Whitchurch and others. Revd Catherine Cowie explained: “It was a chance to come together and to give to God that pain and that grief, whether it was a recent or historical loss.” |

The Revd Vanessa Lawrence is moving on from the parish of Ampfield, Chilworth and North Baddesley to start as Chaplain at the University of Winchester at the start of November. She said, “I love chaplaincy because you can really focus on the people and what’s going in in their lives and support them in their faith journeys. A chaplaincy is a place of hospitality, inclusion and welcome. This is an inclusive space for everyone regardless of race, sexuality or ability. There is such a richness of diversity here. I’m looking forward to connecting with other faith communities.” |
