Last week, Winchester Cathedral hosted Year 6 Leavers Assemblies, where an art installation created by hundreds of Year 6 pupils hangs in the North Transept. The installation features thousands of animals, each displaying a short prayer, and is a way of reminding us of our call to care for God's creation. Read more here >>> |

Connecting with God and One Another in Nature |
St James’ Church's in West End has an allotment which has become much more than a place to grow flowers - it's offered opportunities to engage with the church congregation and local community, as well as a place to provide therapy for people who are struggling and an outreach to show God’s love. |

Anna Chaplains Hold Special Service for Older People |
Last week, Avon Valley Churches held a special midweek communion service for those who are unable to get to church regularly, along with their carers. Co-ordinated by two local Anna Chaplains, the service was laid on for those in the community who are housebound or lonely. |

Middle East Prayer Experience at Romsey Abbey |
Last week Romsey Abbey hosted a 'Middle East Prayer Experience' - a display of powerful photos and stories from each of the 25 countries served by SAT-7, a Christian media and broadcasting charity working in the Middle East. The prayer boards showed inspiring stories from the region, with first-hand accounts of the persecution of Christians in some countries, but the rapid growth of churches in other countries like Iran. The prayer experience is part of Romsey Abbey’s recent stewardship campaign which included fundraising for the worldwide church.
SAT-7 works closely with the Middle East Council of Churches, an ecumenical effort between Christians from Protestant, Catholic and Orthodox traditions. They operate four satellite-TV channels (in Arabic, Turkic and Persian and a children’s channel) broadcasting 24x7 across 25 countries in the Middle East from Morocco to Afghanistan, connecting with thousands of viewers every day. |

The EFT is a great way to assess your parish's energy usage and continue to care for God’s creation. Have any questions? Please contact Sam Scott. |

We're delighted to share that Revd Linda Galvin has recently become Assistant Area Dean of Eastleigh!
She said, "I am delighted and honoured to be asked to take on the role of Assistant Area Dean for Eastleigh and will do my very best to be there for the whole of our wonderful Deanery, alongside John Pawson, our Area Dean. Please pray for John and I as we take up our new roles, and for every deanery across our diocese, that we may work together to make Christ known in Love." |

Richard Wharton, one of our Schools’ Advisors, will be moving on to a new role as a vicar within Portsmouth Diocese in September. Richard has worked in the Education Team for eleven years and we’ll miss him greatly.
As Richard will be leaving us, we’re currently looking to offer a secondment to a serving senior leader, or to temporarily appoint someone who is currently available, to work in the team for the Autumn Term and probably longer while we recruit. If you’re interested, please email Sam Powell (or call 02392 899680) to arrange a mutually convenient time for an informal conversation with Jeff, our Director of Education. |
